Rajasthan, often referred as the land of kings and queens, perfectly shows the essence of luxury India holidays. From the visage of grand palaces, opulent forts, exquisite monuments, unforgettable desert safari to fascinating wildlife, a Rajasthan trip offers an array of exciting travel experiences. Globetrotters can rediscover this royal state by boarding the luxury Palace on Wheels train, which criss-crosses through popular cities, covering Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bharatpur.
Palace on Wheels originates from Delhi and runs through various popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan. Launched by the Indian Railways in collaboration with Rajasthan tourism department, this train features fourteen couches, each named after former princely states. These guest coaches mimic the royal décor of the contemporary times. It is highlighted through the usage of classic furniture, paintings and handicrafts. Over the times, the coaches have been refurbished to incorporate technological advancements in order to offer a luxury India holidays experience to guests.
There are four saloons (chambers) in each coach, reflecting cultural ethos of Rajasthan. Each cabin is facilitated with running hot and cold water, channel music, shower, attached bathrooms, intercom and carpeting to offer a comfortable and king-size travel. Along with two dining and one spa car, there is also a cosy lounge equipped with DVD player, TV and library, and a pantry, which offers enticing beverages with snacks. These cabins also offer a calm and private space where guests can relax, read or enjoy wonderful landscapes through the window.
As per the latest travel news, the state tourism department is seeking suggestions to be included in the formulation of new tourism policy in order to promote the same in the region. All stakeholders including general public are welcomed with their valuable suggestions. The state is also hosting the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit 2015 on November 19 and 20 in order to attract investments. This department is gathering all the necessary information and details about heritage properties and hotels.
With this new development, the visit to these seven places will become even more convenient.
