Attending 3 High-Octane Sports Leagues during Holiday India

League-style sports championships are among the most happening events in India presently. Many of these tournaments consist of teams or franchisees, made up of players from India and around the world. HIL currently consists of six teams, namely Dabang Mumbai, Delhi Waveriders, Jaypee Punjab Warriors, Kalinga Lancers, Ranchi Rays and Uttar Pradesh Wizards. The championship has a double round-robin format, wherein each team faces the other five twice: once at home and once away. ISL was founded in 2013, considering the growing popularity of football or soccer in the nation. It is one of the leagues, where the franchisees feature players from countries other than India as well. The eight teams that competed in the inaugural 2014 championship were Chennaiyin FC, Atletico de Kolkata, Delhi Dynamos FC, FC Pune City, FC Goa, Kerala Blasters FC, Northeast United FC and Mumbai City FC. A holiday India can be planned to visit Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Margao, Delhi, Kochi, Mumbai, Guwahati and Pune to attend the matches. This tournament also has a double round-robin format, where each teams plays the others twice: once each at home and away.


The Indian Premier League is a Twenty20 championship, where cricketers from across the globe come together to form teams. Eight franchisees play the others twice: once away and at the other at home, in a double round-robin format. Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals are its competing franchisees.
